NEW YEARS RESOLUTION
Scripture Reading - Job 22:25-29
25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. KJV
Every year many people make New Year’s resolutions at the beginning of the year. This may sound good to those in the world but it yields very little positive results. One reason is because a “resolution” is another word for saying “re-solution” which means a solution that hasn’t work for you before. Hence it is probably not the correct solution for you. The major problem with trying to enforce a mental solution (man’s ideal) is that you will not have any spiritual power to help you. Although good works may bring some profit anything outside of God’s Grace can be quite tasking and often frustrating. We (ihlcc) propose utilizing some verses of scripture found in the Old Testament book of Job. Fact 1: Since these scriptures have been passed down from our forefathers they have already been proven to work. Fact 2: Looking to the Almighty God as your defense is comforting to your mind as well as security for any thing or person that would come against you. Fact 3: Notice that the Holy Bible proclaims you shall have plenty of silver, so please don’t be fearful about the threats of a global recession. Yes, you will need to be a wise steward in your finances but that is made possible in Christ Jesus your Lord. Fact 4: As a priority of your Great Salvation you should delight (take pleasure) in God. This means lifting up your face to God with a smile while praising Him for all the wonderful things He has done for you. Fact 5: Your relationship with your Heavenly Father is solidified in Jesus Christ which means the moment you pray God hears your heart (voice). This is the reason for Fact 6 which is you can decree (declare, confess, profess) exactly what the Word of God states and it shall be established unto you. The establishment of God’s blessing in your life is what brings God’s Light into your personal life. Finally Fact 7 covers any scenario where someone was knocked down. As Christians we can experience some disappoints in our life or in the life of someone we know. However know with all confidence dear Believer God can lift any person up (including yourself) out of a discouraging trial if we but humble ourselves and call upon the Name of Jesus. So this New Year forget about resolutions and concentrate on putting God’s Solutions inside of His Word inside of you. Amen!
